Simon Cloney has 30 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. Since 2002, he has worked at the convergence of capital markets and reinsurance.
Simon joined Beach & Associates, London in 2005 and post Hurricane Katrina he led a team that put in place some of the first collateralised quota shares. Returning to Sydney in 2007, Simon was responsible for the creation of fully collateralised whole account stop loss protection that delivered earnings protection to a global client.
Simon was appointed Managing Director of Beach & Associates Australia in 2010, and in 2014 initiated a management buyout, followed by a joint venture with Steadfast leading to the formation of Steadfast Re.

John Palmer started as a Lloyd’s Broker at EW Payne in London. In 1988 he was part of the team that started up Nicholson Chamberlain Colls, serving as a Divisional Director. John joined the board of Aon Re Australia in 1997, assuming responsibility for running the International inwards portfolio.
John formed Pacific Link in 2002 providing reinsurance underwriting representation, consultancy, Lloyds’ Cover holder audits, and regulatory advice (including claims auditing).
John joined Steadfast Re, then Beach & Associates Australia, in 2011 to head the Treaty business at Steadfast Re.

Ingrid has been in the reinsurance industry for over 19 years starting in the Treaty department of Minet Burn and Roche, Sydney. She has worked for two and a half years in the London Market gaining valuable experience with Gallagher Read and Coleman.
Ingrid has worked at Aon Risk Services, Cooper Gay Sydney and Benfield. She joined Steadfast Re, then Beach & Associates Australia, in 2009 where Ingrid progressed to be Vice President and Head of Facultative.
Ingrid has qualifications as Dip Financial Services (General Insurance) and is a Senior Associate of the ANZIIF. She is responsible for the development of Steadfast Re’s facultative business, and wholesale service offerings.

Clayton Kasmar began his career in the Group Reinsurance Team at FAI and later joined Minet Burn and Roche. He brings over 30 years’ reinsurance industry experience to Steadfast Re.
At Steadfast Re, formerly Beach & Associates Australia, Clayton works on complex global accounts. He is a specialist in the technical placement of collaterized reinsurance – insurance-linked securities. Following Christchurch, Yasi and the Brisbane floods, Clayton recovered over AUD $550 million in claims collections from ILS funds.
Clayton has responsibility for senior account management, treaty design, contract documentation, reporting timetables, claims collections and security analysis.

Gavin joined Steadfast Re, formerly Beach & Associates Australia, as an actuarial analyst in 2011 after completing an Actuarial Studies degree at Macquarie University. He has been involved in the modelling of whole account aggregate treaties, retrocession and all forms of catastrophe reinsurance. Gavin is currently studying to become a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.

Sophie started her career in the insurance industry in 2008 as a broking assistant at Delaney Kelly Golding Insurance Brokers whilst completing her Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Sydney.
Sophie was the first new hire for Steadfast Re after the management buyout of Beach & Associates Sydney, joining the Treaty team in Sydney in early 2015. Sophie spent a year in the London in 2017 to support the build up of the Steadfast Re London operation, opened in November 2016.
She has been involved in broking and account management of property & casualty proportional and non-proportional reinsurance and retrocessional treaty accounts, ILWs as well as binding authority agreements for London market, Bermuda and Australian clients.

Brittany began her career in the insurance industry in 2016 as an Internal Account Manager at Allianz Insurance Australia whilst completing her Bachelor of Economics at the University of New South Wales, Sydney.
In 2018 she joined the Steadfast Group Graduate program where she worked in several facets of the business including; Wholesale Broking at Steadfast Placement Solutions and Retail Insurance Broking at Steadfast IRS. Brittany then went to London for Steadfast Re on a three-month Secondment.
At the beginning of 2019 Brittany officially joined the Steadfast Re team as a Treaty Broker working from the London Office. She has been involved in broking and account management of both property and casualty proportional and non-proportional reinsurance and retrocessional treaty accounts, ILW’s & Binding Authority agreements for London Market, Bermuda and Australian clients.

Having first started in the industry in 1976 and now being based in the London office, Nick Porritt brings over 40 years of industry experience to Steadfast Re. He spent 11 years at Bland Payne, specializing in Non-Marine Retrocession before moving on to work as an executive director at Fraser Reinsurance and Blanch Crawley Warren for a combined 12 years. A further 14 years in the position of Senior Account Executive at Aon Benfield / Aon helped Nick tailor his expertise in reinsurance and retrocession.
Since 2016 Nick has been based in London, providing invaluable consultancy and support to the Steadfast Re teams in both London and Sydney. His extensive industry experience and intimate market knowledge see him well situated at Steadfast Re

Dan Bailey’s extensive insurance market career began with a number of independent London Market Brokers in the late 1980’s. He spent over four years as an Executive Director at Aon and most recently has been a well -recognized reinsurance and retro broker for JLT Re in London where he spent 9 years as a partner and broker before joining the Steadfast Re London team in 2019.
Dan’s experience in broking insurance linked securities (ILS) and industry loss warranty (ILW) market products puts him in excellent stead to head up the production of both traditional and collateralised business for the Steadfast Re London office.
