Bio
With over 35 years of experience in the industry, Simon has worked at the convergence of capital markets and reinsurance since 2002.
Simon was appointed Managing Director of Beach & Associates Australia in 2010, and in 2014 initiated a management buyout, followed by a joint venture with Steadfast leading to the formation of Steadfast Re. He now heads-up the SteadRe team, drawing on the impeccable reputation and close industry contacts he has fostered.

Bio
John Palmer started as a Lloyd’s Broker at EW Payne in London. In 1988 he was part of the team that started up Nicholson Chamberlain Colls, serving as a Divisional Director.
John formed Pacific Link in 2002 providing reinsurance underwriting representation, consultancy, Lloyds’ Cover holder audits, and regulatory advice (including claims auditing). He joined Steadfast Re, then Beach & Associates Australia, in 2011 to head the Treaty business at Steadfast Re.

Bio
Ingrid has been in the reinsurance industry for over 19 years starting in the Treaty department of Minet Burn and Roche, Sydney. She has worked for two and a half years in the London Market gaining valuable experience with Gallagher Read and Coleman.
Ingrid has worked at Aon Risk Services, Cooper Gay Sydney and Benfield. She joined Steadfast Re, then Beach & Associates Australia, in 2009 where Ingrid progressed to be Vice President and Head of Facultative.
Ingrid has qualifications as Dip Financial Services (General Insurance) and is a Senior Associate of the ANZIIF. She is responsible for the development of Steadfast Re’s facultative business, and wholesale service offerings.

Bio
Clayton Kasmar began his career in the group reinsurance team for an Australian leading insurer and later joined Minet Burn and Roche. He brings over 35 years’ reinsurance industry experience to Steadfast Re.
At Steadfast Re, Clayton works on complex global accounts. He is a specialist in the technical placement of collaterised reinsurance – insurance-linked securities. Clayton has responsibility for senior account management, treaty design, contract documentation, reporting timetables, claims collections and security analysis.

Bio
Gavin joined Steadfast Re, formerly Beach & Associates Australia, as an actuarial analyst in 2011 after completing an Actuarial Studies degree at Macquarie University. He has been involved in the modelling of whole account aggregate treaties, retrocession and all forms of catastrophe reinsurance. Gavin is currently studying to become a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.

Bio
Sophie started her career in the insurance industry in 2008 and was the first new hire for Steadfast Re after the management buyout of Beach & Associates Sydney, joining the Treaty team in Sydney in early 2015. Sophie spent a year in the London in 2017 to support the buildup of the Steadfast Re London operation, opened in November 2016.
She has been involved in broking and account management of property & casualty proportional and non-proportional reinsurance and retrocessional treaty accounts, ILWs as well as binding authority agreements for London market, Bermuda and Australian clients.

In 2019, Sophia joined the Steadfast Group Graduate program where she rotated through several core businesses, learning key aspects of the insurance and reinsurance industries.
At the beginning of 2020, Sophia joined the Steadfast Re team as an Account Manager working from the Sydney office. She has been involved in the account management of property & casualty proportional and non-proportional reinsurance and retrocessional treaty accounts, as well as facultative accounts.

Having first started in the industry in 1976 and now being based in the London office, Nick Porritt brings over 40 years of industry experience to Steadfast Re. He spent 11 years at Bland Payne, specializing in Non-Marine Retrocession before moving on to work as an executive director at Fraser Reinsurance and Blanch Crawley Warren for a combined 12 years. A further 14 years in the position of Senior Account Executive at Aon Benfield / Aon helped Nick tailor his expertise in reinsurance and retrocession.
Since 2016 Nick has been based in London, providing invaluable consultancy and support to the Steadfast Re teams in both London and Sydney. His extensive industry experience and intimate market knowledge see him well situated at Steadfast Re.

Ryan joined Steadfast Re in 2020 bringing his 10+ years in structuring, strategic advisory and building treaty reinsurance and retrocessional relationships to the Steadfast Re team. Ryan began his reinsurance career at Aon Benfield in Sydney before moving to roles in Melbourne and then Tokyo.
Through-out his diverse career, Ryan has been responsible for directing risk capital strategies, transacting reinsurance and client advocacy. This includes managing a team of brokers responsible for delivering the full suite of risk and growth solutions for Japanese insurers and international reinsurers.

Bio
Jake joined Steadfast Re in 2019. He holds a Bachelor of Communications and a Juris Doctor which have been valuable asset in assisting the Executive Director of Client Management with various aspects of Treaty and Facultative Reinsurance.
Jake’s previous engagements have been in client facing rolls. As an Account Manager he is involved in contract preparation, claims handling, placement and management of various forms of reinsurance and is a first point of call for client queries.

Bio
Maggie joined the Steadfast Re team in 2022 as a technical accountant after moving to Sydney from New Zealand. Maggie brings 6 years of accounting knowledge from her previous employment in general accounting. This experience has helped her create a more efficient, streamlined approach to the functionality of Steadfast Re’s premium and transaction processing.
In addition to overseeing technical accounting matters, Maggie has implemented a new Reinsurance software that provides placement, claims, contract management and accounting control.

Tammy joined Steadfast Re in 2019 after working in various general insurance pricing roles, in Sydney and London. This included roles in pricing at CommInsure in Australia and Equity Red Star (ERS) in London. She has experience in both technical and market pricing in personal and commercial lines, along with reinsurance pricing and analysis. Tammy is a qualified fellow of the Institute of Actuaries Australia.
