Bio

Robert co-founded Steadfast and has over 45 years’ experience in the insurance industry. He is ranked the second most influential person in insurance by Insurance News, and was awarded the ACORD Rainmaker Award in 2014. Robert is a Qualified Practising Insurance Broker, a Fellow of NIBA, a Senior Associate of ANZIIF, a Certified Insurance Professional and a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Robert is also a Director of ASX-listed Johns Lyng Group Limited and not-for-profit organisation KidsXpress.

Bio

Simon Cloney has 30 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. Since 2002, he has worked at the convergence of capital markets and reinsurance.

Simon joined Beach & Associates, London in 2005 and post Hurricane Katrina he led a team that put in place some of the first collateralised quota shares. Returning to Sydney in 2007, Simon was responsible for the creation of fully collateralised whole account stop loss protection that delivered earnings protection to a global client.

Simon was appointed Managing Director of Beach & Associates Australia in 2010, and in 2014 initiated a management buyout, followed by a joint venture with Steadfast leading to the formation of Steadfast Re.

Bio

Linda is Group Company Secretary & Corporate Counsel at Steadfast Group Limited and has been part of the Executive team since 2013. Before joining Steadfast, she specialised in mergers and acquisitions and worked in Sydney and London at global law firms. Linda is a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, holds a BEc and LLB (Hons I) from The University of Sydney and is on the boards of Abbotsleigh School for Girls, Mosman Preparatory School and the advisory board of Heads Over Heels.

John Cloney

Bio

Mr Cloney joined QBE as managing director in 1981. He retired in January 1998, at which time he became a non-executive director. He was appointed deputy chairman in April 1998 and chairman in October 1998. He is chairman of the chairman’s and funding committees, and a member of the investment and remuneration committees. Mr Cloney is a director of ABN AMRO Australia Holdings Pty Limited, Boral Limited and Maple-Brown Abbott Limited. He is a trustee of the Sydney Cricket & Sports Ground Trust. Mr. Cloney is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and the New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance. He holds AM FANZIIF, FAIM, and FAICDc titles.
